VIDEO: Watch Don Jazzy Diss Olamide At The 2015 Headies

Olamide wasn’t too happy, and when he went on stage to receive another award, blasted the Headies for not giving Kesh the award.

Don Jazzy took the insults personally and told Olamide that if he wanted the car (the winner of the Next Rated award usually gets a car), that he could have it.

That Unforgettable Moment When Olamide “Flipped the Script” on Headies 2015 & Don Jazzy Flipped it Right Back

Things got very very interesting a few minutes ago at the 2015 Headies Awards when Olamide (and the whole YBNL crew) escorted Adekunle Gold on stage to collect his award for “Best Alternative Song”.

Leading up to this heated moment; things were already quite tense as everyone anticipated the winner of the coveted “Next Rated Award”.

The Next Rated Award comes with a lot of recognition (and the bonus of a brand Hyundai Car).

While a lot of people expected Lil Kesh to win, the award went to Mavin artist Reekado Banks.

So when Adekunle Gold came on stage with the whole YBNL crew, it was inevitable that the CEO Olamide would take the microphone to speak his mind.

Olamide went OFF on the Headies saying the award should have gone to Lil Kesh as he had back to back hit songs all year round. Olamide stated “Ko ni da fun Iya anybody” (A Yoruba expletive involving the mother of the recipient) and flipped off the whole hall before throwing his drink on stage and storming off with his crew.

Just when we thought things had ended, Don Jazzy was given a Special Recognition award and in his speech he stated that he has never liked awards and the only reason he came for the show was to support his “children”. He also stated that he had told Reekado Banks and Korede Bello (who were both nominated for Next Rated) that he’d buy cars for them.

Don Jazzy ended the night with a bombshell saying “Egbon Olamide, if you want the car come and collect it. God bless you”. He and the Mavin artists then stormed out of the venue.

Olamide: New album

YBNL front man and rap star, Olamide has released a new album, Eyan MayWeather.

The highly anticipated album, released on Monday 23 November, is Olamide’s fifth in five years and second this year. In April, Olamide and Phyno put out a collaborative album “2 Kings”.

‘Eyan MayWeather’ is a 21-track project containing his numerous hits including ‘Lagos Boy’, ‘Bobo’, ‘Melo Melo’, ‘Jega’, ‘Matter Arising’ and album cover title,  ‘Eyan MayWeather’.

It was mainly produced by Mr Pheelz, with support from ID Cabasa, Young John and Major Banks.

Interestingly, the new album has received huge acceptance as it has climbed to number two on iTunes barely two hours after its release.

Unlike his previous albums, Olamide’s ‘Eyan MayWeather’ has no collaboration with any artiste including those on his label (Adekunle Gold and Lil Kesh).

‘Bobo’, a track in the new album fetched Olamide the Best Male Artiste in West Africa award at the 2015 All Africa Music Awards,  AFRIMA, held penultimate Sunday in Lagos, Nigeria.

Last week, Olamide unveiled the artwork and track list of the anticipated album.

He has since then been receiving support from fellow artistes and fans including international rapper, Wale who reposted the album art on Instagram with the caption: “My brother #baddo on his fifth album, plenty reasons to #behappy. Abi?. All my naija niggas wit me!”

Other albums by Olamide are Rapsodi (2011), YBNL (2012), Baddest Guy Ever Liveth (2013) and Street OT (2014).

Olamide explain the meaning of sneeh,in his new video

YBNL boss, Olamide has released the video for his latest single, Lagos Boys, a song made popular by the made-up slang, ‘sneh.’
Sneh is an unusual word not found in the regular parlance of most Nigerians. To stop people scratching their heads over its meaning, Olamide has finally stepped up to explain the word.

The video, directed by Unlimited L.A’s MSAYC productions, portrays Olamide as a rich Lagos boy who parties hard with his gang.
Wealth and affluence were fully on display with a fancy helicopter and a yacht. The video has cameos by the YBNL gang and Skuki.

This video will definitely compete for the best video category in music awards this year.
